Time. Motion

Motion is obviously a big part of diving, and timing is essential in performing in all dives. According to Lupton and Phillips, “motion is a kind of change, and change takes place in time. Motion can be implied as well as literal” (233). In the images below, there is an obvious passage of time since the diver (my teammate) is in a different position of the dive in each image. This shows the passage of time and motion during a dive. These images imply motion, especially since if you look closely at the images there are some blurs which imply fast movements. When presenting these images in a sequence, this shows the passage of time and effectively presents the movement of the diver during a straight positioned back dive. By including multiple images that show different parts of the dive, this breaks the dive down into different elements that, when put together, illustrate the passage of time.
